For photography lovers, Dubai is heaven on earth. Its picturesque skyline is full of skyscrapers with its ancient side also as vibrant. The year-round sunshine makes Dubai a good location for photography.

From street photography, portraits or landscapes, here’s a roundup of the best photography locations the city has to offer.

1. At the top / Burj Khalifa

The Burj Khalifa is not only the tallest building in the world but also the most majestic. The view at the top is a great location. Here are a few tips to keep in mind:

• Buy your tickets at least two weeks before preferred date. This is to avoid paying for a pricey ticket on the spot. Tickets get sold out quickly.
• Be prepared for airport-style security. As much as possible, don’t take a big camera bag with you.
• Bring a stable tripod. The viewing deck is surrounded by glass walls. You can take photos in the slits between them.

2. Dubai Marina

Dubai Marina is a popular location for shooting skyline photos. Marina is best photographed late at night or early in the morning where it’s not crowded. There are a few parts in North Marina where you’ll be stopped by security guards. You can get a clamp because the railings work as great support.
Another pro tip: get an ND filter. The daytime photos are better with long exposures.

3. Palm Jumeirah

Palm Jumeirah is a great place to take a cityscape photo. From one side is a view of Dubai Marina, on the other, it’s Burj Al Arab. You will need longer zoom lens because it’s too far.

4.Business bay

Perhaps Business bay is the most popular photography spot in Dubai. The arc of the bridge with the Burj Khalifa in the background is a typical site for most photographers. There are construction sites but it’s all accessible.

5. Jumeira Public beach

Here’s another good spot to view skyscraper, but with a nice reflection as well. Try going there before the moon rises because it’s awesome.
