Verizon 5G Home Service Arrives October 1 – Droid Life

Verizon just announced that its 5G broadband service, officially called Verizon 5G Home, arrives October 1.

The service will be available for order starting Thursday, September 13, in Houston, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, and Sacramento.

How much will it cost? Verizon tells us that we’ll learn more on Thursday, but consumers in those launch markets can get free Verizon 5G Home for three months as part of an introductory offer. After that intro period, the cost will be $50 per month with a “qualifying smartphone plan” or $70 per month if not a Verizon Wireless customer. Those prices included taxes and fees, plus there are no annual contracts for 5G Home.

Verizon 5G Home won’t have hardware costs and should produce “typical network speeds around 300Mbps” with peak speeds at “nearly 1 Gig.” There are “no data caps” either.

If you sign-up, not only do you get the first three months free, but you get free YouTube TV for three months too and a free Apple TV 4K or Google Chromecast Ultra.

If interested, you can sign-up here.
